Description
Metronidazole Tablets 500 mg is a nitroimidazole antimicrobial, supplied as an oral dosage form (see pack).
Uses: Anaerobic bacterial infections, amoebiasis, giardiasis, trichomoniasis and bacterial vaginosis.
Age group: Adults; children by weight (about 7.5 mg/kg per dose) as directed.
Usual dose: 400-500 mg every 8 hours for 7 days; trichomoniasis: 2 g single dose or 500 mg twice daily for 7 days; amoebiasis: 400-800 mg three times daily for 5?10 days.
