Rifampicin Capsules 150 mg is a first-line antitubercular antibiotic, supplied as capsules.
Uses: Tuberculosis (in combination therapy), leprosy and prophylaxis in meningococcal carriers.
Age group: Adults and children; children by weight.
Usual dose: About 10 mg/kg once daily (maximum 600 mg): usually 450 mg if under 50 kg and 600 mg if 50 kg or more, taken on an empty stomach.
